Chatroulette Piano Man 'Merton' Sings For Strangers

Chatroulette piano man Merton plays for strangers.

Skeptical about all the hype around Chatroulette? This video might actually convince you to take the plunge.

In the clip, a piano man who calls himself "Merton" embarks on an improvisational adventure through the wide, sometimes vulgar, and often hilarious world of Chatroulette. (For the uninitiated, it's a site that allows strangers from every corner of planet Earth to chat one-on-one with their webcams).

Merton -- whose hipster glasses, creepily cinched hoodie and male gender would normally make him instant 'Next' fodder -- keeps people watching by playing tunes for them on a piano and coming up with lyrics based on their onscreen appearance. He even sneaks in an impressive rendition of Owl City's "Fireflies," at the request of one of his communicants.

The LOL moments occur when Merton finds himself face-to-face with a "chin-strapped" man and a trio of teens who are mildly obsessed with making heart-shaped hand signals.

Check out the clip to fully appreciate Merton's Chatroulette piano strokes of genius.
