Bruce Springsteen 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' Studio Footage Surfaces

B ruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are releasing a big package for their reissue of the classic album "Darkness on the Edge of Town" on Nov. 16. To give fans a taste of what the triple CD/DVD reissue will offer, Springsteen recently released a one-take in-studio video for the previously unreleased track "The Promise" -- from the song's original recording in 1977-1978.

The vintage video shows the E Street Band, in top form, giving an almost unbelievable, supposedly one-take performance with Springsteen's voice sounding raspier than ever.
As of evidence of how times have changed, a young drummer named Max Weinberg (you might have heard of him) has a full beard in the video. "The Boss" is looking especially boyish with his everyman look.
