Beastie Boys & Santigold Join Forces As Action Figures: Watch

Funny Or Die

Beastie Boys
Santigold

There are two things you can always rely on from the Beastie Boys: Throwback B-boy hip-hop and ridiculously ill music videos.

Beastie Boys' Star-Studded 'Make Some Noise' Video Premieres

Following the ridiculously star-studded clip for "Make Some Noise,"the Beasties have called in past collaborator Spike Jonze -- responsible for the venerable "Sabatoge" video -- for the 11-minute "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" clip. Santigold assists on the "Hot Sauce Committee Part Two" single, and she makes an appearance in doll form. Watch below.

In the video, the three MCs and Santigold are turned into action figures and forced to fight an anti-Beastie militia. The clip excellently toys with other big budget action movies, even lowering the volume of the music as the figurines talk with one another (despite using subtitles).

The short version of the video ends with a cliffhanger -- the B-boys trapped by approaching zombies -- but in the 11-minute verison, our heroes are suddenly saved by the abominable snowman, a Yedi ex machina if you will. Gruesome hillarity ensues, and a few dead-pan puns are thrown in for good measure -- "That was some 'heads up' thinking" says Ad Rock, after MCA hands him an axe to decapitate a zombie. Santigold saves the day by knifing a shark that's attacking Mike D.

Is "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" worth eleven minutes of your day? Absolutely.
