Joe returns to music with a splash as his ninth studio album, "The Good, The Bad, The Sexy," debuts at No. 2 on R&B/Hip-Hop Abums.

The 2011 Soul Train Awards will have more surprises in store. The awards show, being taped on Thursday (Nov. 17) at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, will treat its audience and viewers to tribute performances to celebrate the achievements of the Legend Award recipients Earth, Wind & Fire and Gladys Knight.

 

Chris Brown Leads Soul Train Awards Nominations

 

Those performing include Cee Lo Green, Mary Mary, Common, Freddie Jackson, Chrisette Michele, Marsha Ambrosius, Musiq Soulchild, Anthony Hamilton and Toni Braxton's sister, Tamar Braxton. Along with the performance, the awards will present pre-recorded tribute testimonials by Elton John, Smokey Robinson, Patti Labelle, will.i.am, The Roots, Marie Osmond and more.

 

?uestlove of The Roots is slated to develop a revamped rendition of the "Soul Train" opening song.

 

Basketball legend and Chairman of Vibe Media LLC, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, will serve as a presenter, alongside Valerie Simpson, DJ Just Blaze, actors Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Melissa De Sousa, Lance Gross, Demetria McKinney, Nelsan Ellis, Amber Rose, Kel Mitchell, Shaunie O'Neal and more.

 

The 2011 Soul Train Awards, hosted by comedian and actor, Cedric "The Entertainer," will also include previously announced performances by Natalie Cole, Jill Scott, Robin Thicke, Melanie Fiona, Keith Sweat, BeBe Winans, Joe, Lalah Hathaway and others.

 

Nominees of the night include Chris Brown with five nods across 11 categories, Beyoncé with four nods and more.

 

Don't miss the 2011 Soul Train Awards premiering on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 9 p.m. on both BET and Centric.
