Rick Ross Suffers Second Health Scare; Reportedly in Stable Condition

Rapper Rick Ross was reportedly hospitalized in Alabama on Friday evening after suffering two medical scares in six hours that required planes to be diverted.

Rick Ross pulled out of a scheduled concert in Greensboro, NC on Saturday night, citing health concerns a day after reportedly suffering seizures on two different flights. A spokesperson for the Greensboro Coliseum Complex tells Fox affiliate WGHP that the rapper canceled less than an hour before the NC A&T homecoming concert was set to begin.

Earlier, TMZ was reporting that Ross' handlers had called the Greensboro venue on Saturday to confirm the star would be there.

The outsized rapper suffered the first health scare Friday afternoon aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale to Memphis, however the plane returned to the airport after he suffered a medical emergency, widely reported to be a seizure.

Ross reportedly fell unconscious immediately after the first flight's takeoff. Emergency workers reported a seizure at around 12:55 p.m. EST, and Ross' plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

Following treatment at a Fort Lauderdale hospital, Ross boarded a private jet and defiantly tweeted, "Memphis here I come," along with a short video. But that flight too was diverted (this time to Birmingham, Ala) after the 34-year-old star experienced another health issue.

According to WMC-TV in Memphis, Ross suffered a second seizure on the private jet and was rushed to the emergency room. Ross' camp has not released information on his exact condition.

In between health scares, a rep for Ross told Billboard.com he was recovering and "fine."

He was heading to Memphis to perform Friday night at the University of Memphis basketball team's "Memphis Madness" event. He was also scheduled to open a Wingstop chicken wing franchise in the city on Saturday afternoon.

"It's time for us to make it happen in Memphis," Ross said in an earlier statement. "With Wingstop, we are bringing in the food I like and adding jobs to the community. It's a double win."

The Greensboro concert went on as schedued, with DJ Khaled and Marsha Ambrosius on the bill. Ross' next scheduled performance is Friday, Oct. 21 at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. Two days later, he's slotted to perform along with Busta Rhymes at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

"God Forgives, I Don't," Ross' fifth studio album, is expected to be released Dec. 13. The rapper released two singles from the new full-length, the Just Blaze-produced "I Love My Bitches" and "You The Boss" featuring Nicki Minaj, last week.
