GLAAD Calls Out 50 Cent For Anti-Gay Tweet

50 Cent

Following a tweet in which 50 Cent joked -- we hope -- about sending his "homie to shoot up a gay wedding," the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) took to their blog yesterday (Aug. 9) to ask the New York rapper to please retract his "anti-gay" statement.

"Perez Hilton called me a douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. Wasn't his but still made me feel better," 50 tweeted earlier this week in response to a previous Twitter post from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. The tweet was accompanied by a photo of two men in suits running from an angry mob of people.

GLAAD is asking twitterers to re-tweet "Tell @50cent to let his fans know that anti-gay violence isn't something to joke about," with a link to the original blog post.

Apparently, 50 has since deleted the tweet from his feed, but it still appears on his Twitpic feed. Although he appears to have deleted the Twitter post, in true 50 fashion, we're sure he'll touch on the topic again soon. Stay tuned.
