VH1's "Behind the Music" documentary series is returning with an even more provoking season.
This new season, "Behind the Music," is R&B/Hip-Hop heavy, featuring artists Pitbull, Game, T-Pain, Brandy, Akon and Nas. VH1 aims to touch on the influence R&B/Hip-Hop has had on the "millennial generation."
All of the artists mentioned continue to impact our culture and charts. Brandy, Akon, and Nas, all separately, are currently in the studio, lacing new albums. With yet another Hot 100 hit, "5 O'Clock," in his back pocket, T-Pain is launching his own charity, "If I Could Change the World," and hosting a benefit concert to celebrate. Pitbull and Game continue to climb the charts with their Billboard 200 top 10 albums, "The R.E.D. Album" and "Planet Pit."
"Behind the Music" premieres on Thursday, March 15 (9 pm EST), with Miami's own. Pitbull, born Armando Christian Perez, opens up about the root of his nickname and dealing with his father's death.
"I learned a lot from his death, I learned that it's not what you have -- what you obtain, all the material bullshit in life. It's all about what you leave behind," Pitbull says on "Behind the Music."

Pit contines to discuss meeting Irv Gotti and the influence he had on his career.
"Irv Gotti pulls me to the side and Irv Gotti's like, 'Are you the one causing all this, this raucous, this commotion up here?' You know me, I'm about 17," Pitbull says. "'Yeah.' He goes, 'Hey, you write music?' I said, 'Naw, I just freestyle,' he's like, 'Yeah that shit is great but it don't make no money.' Ding ding ding, ding, ding, ding, ding -- I started writing since that day forward. That's basically when it all started developing."
