It's Official: Lil Wayne's 'Carter IV' Debuts at No. 1 With 964,000 Copies

This week, as Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart manager Karinah Santiago points out, Wayne breaks a new record by being the first artist to earn six No. 1s on Billboard's Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop radio airplay chart in one calendar year, as "She Will," featuring Drake rises 3-1. Until this year, Usher held the one-year record with four No. 1s in 2004 ("Yeah," "Burn," "Confessions Part II," and "My Boo").

Here is a recap of Lil Wayne's six Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop No. 1s this year: "6 Foot 7 Foot," featuring Cory Gunz, one week at No. 1; "Look at Me Now," Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes, seven; "Motivation," Kelly Rowland featuring Lil Wayne, seven; "I'm on One," DJ Khaled featuring Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne, six; "How to Love," three; and, "She Will," featuring Drake, one to-date.

Wayne also extends his mark for the most No. 1s - 13 - in the chart's history. Wayne surpassed R. Kelly and Usher (who tie with 11 No. 1s) last month, when "How to Love" marked Wayne's 12th topper. Drake is the only other artist with a double-digit No. 1 sum, as "She Will" is his 10th Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart leader.
