Photos: Best & Worst Dressed at MTV EMAs

Where Were You When Lady Gaga Wore a Moon-Saucer Hat Thing?

The oddest and hottest in music traveled to Europe last night for the MTV 2011 Europe Music Awards. Hosted by the dazzling Selena Gomez who went under nine costume changes, the MTVEA proved to be quite the fashion spectacle. Belfast Ireland's Odyssey Arena was bombarded with a melting pot of fashion, from Gaga's space gear to LMFAO's shredded animal print look; the evening saw some of the best and worst fashions of the year. Check out my picks for the best and worst dressed of the evening.

Best:

Host of the evening, Selena Gomez , has my vote for best dressed on the pink carpet. The Disney princess shinned in a textured cream lace ensemble by Marchesa. The short titillating dress featured a sheer back with tiny buttons running down it, and bottom bursting with tulle. Miss Gomez accessorized her look with a red clutch and sparkling peep toe pumps.

Adam Lambert brought the blues to the pink carpet. The flamboyant singer paired retro a blue suite suit with an edgy pulsating floral printed shirt. He polished his blue look off with navy hair and electric blue shoes.

Hayden Panettiere took to the pink carpet in a gorgeous Tibi black and white printed silk twill cap sleeve dress. The actress polished the her look with a pair of killer black peep toe heels and nude makeup.

Justin Bieber kept it classic and cool at the MTV EMAs showing up in dark jeans, and a black sweater over a plaid shirt. The boyfriend of the host looked most dapper in his relaxed high-low chic look that he finished off with a signature pair of black kicks.

Bringing the cosmos to the stage, Lady Gaga looked out of this world in a Paco Rabanne creation as she accepted her the award for Best Female Performer. "Warming up with my choreographer Richard Jackson, singing + pinning garments till the last moment. So excited for The Night, gonna Marry It," Gaga tweeted before the show. The cylindrical face-concealing satellite dish hat and undulating body piece, moved like liquid metal onstage putting a smile on every little monsters face.

Katy Perry kept it quirky and pink, as she took to the pink carpet in a hot retro look. Dressed head to toe in Jeremy Scott's Spring 2012 collection, the Pink Lady rocked a baby pink leather jacket, a sunglass printed dress, bobby socks, and pink platform saddle shoes. A mix of classic fifties pinup and rocker chic, Perry brought her unique blend of wacky to the MTV EMAs. The 'Firework' singer seemed to take makeup direction from Gwen Stefani, penciling in dark eyebrows to punctuate her retro look.

Worst:

LMFAO looked like he spent the night before cutting up animal prints and pasting them onto his body with neon tape. Complete with 6 different animal prints, the singer's disastrous and dizzying look vibrated with a chaotic disorder.

David Hasselhoff appeared to have just jumped of his recliner as he stepped onto the pick carpet. The Hass was dressed in dark, ill-fitting jeans, beat up grey oxfords and a beige hat. A bit too casual for an award show packed with such a strong stylistic punch.

Jeremy Scott channeled the western style of the infamous John Wayne, taking the stars fashions and slid them through a paper shredder and then dipped them in gold. However, I must say I do appreciate his unique style and strong individuality.

Jessie J stepped onto the pink carpet looking like a jungle cat in stilettos. Dressed in a yellow animal-print Dolce & Gabbana strapless dress the singer looked a bit frenzied and rustled at the show. Perhaps there was a recent stampede in the jungle she emerged from.

Snooki looked like a seventies disco ball explosion as she arrived in a to tight one shoulder black dress and blinding glitter drenched pumps.

Continuing the use of horrific animal print, David Guetta , showed up to the MTV awards in a grey leopard print jacket and black leather pants.
