Country Music Hall of Fame: Class of 2012 Cheat Sheet

In just a few weeks, the Country Music Hall of Fame will announce the name of three new inductees into the ranks of the genre's most exclusive class. With that in mind, we'd like to offer our thoughts on who might be the honorees in the individual categories this year.

Luke Bryan claims his third and fastest No. 1 on Country Songs, as "I Don't Want This Night to End" gains 2.4 million audience impressions and steps 2-1 in its 21st chart week.

The Georgia native achieved his first No. 1 with "Rain Is a Good Thing," which reached the summit in its 27th week on the chart dated July 24, 2010 (two weeks at No. 1). His second leader was noted when "Someone Else Calling You Baby" topped the Feb. 26, 2011 list in its 29th chart week -- the chart topping streak was interrupted when "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)" stopped at No. 4 last summer.

"I Don't Want This Night to End"

Top audience contributors during the tracking period are led by 1.1 million impressions at KKGO Los Angeles, and include KEEY Minneapolis (1.0 million), KPLX Dallas (944,000), WUSN Chicago (926,000) and WMZQ Washington, D.C. (908,000).

With 40.0 million audience impressions during the January 16-22 Nielsen BDS tracking week, Bryan's song is also the first of 2012 to reach 40 million audience impressions in a single week. The first of four songs to do so last year was Blake Shelton's "Honey Bee" (July 9 chart), which closed a gap of six years opened by Toby Keith's "As Good As I Once Was" in August 2005. Shelton's feat was followed with 40-million-plus weeks by Zac Brown Band's "Knee Deep" (August 13), Rodney Atkins "Take a Back Road" (October 8) and Shelton's "God Gave Me You" (November 12).

CHARTS: Country Songs | Country Albums

On Country Digital Songs, "I Don't Want This Night to End" moves 69,000 downloads during the tracking week (3-2). Nielsen SoundScan reports total sales of more than 930,000 downloads since its release last summer.

Dierks Bentley logs his 14th top 10 on Country Songs, as the title track and second single from his next album gains 393,000 listener impressions and shifts 11-10. Bentley's chart history includes eight leaders, a feat most recently accomplished last fall when the new album's lead single "Am I the Only One" topped the Sept. 3 chart. Bentley's sixth studio album, "Home" makes its retail debut February 7.

Up 3-2 and poised to become Chris Young's fifth straight No. 1 on the radio list, "You" (RCA) also matches the artist's career-best rank on Country Digital Songs with an 11-5 leap (37,000 downloads). He previously peaked that same weekly download rank with "Tomorrow" last spring. Country Digital Songs is led for an 11th weeks by Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" (Show Dog-Universal), which moves 78,000 downloads during the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week.

With 17,000 copies sold and Greatest Gainer honors (up 27%), Keith's new album "Clancy's Tavern" returns to No. 1 on Country Albums for the first time since it debuted there on the Nov. 12 chart. A bit lower on the chart, Martina McBride takes the Hot Shot Debut at No. 11 with 8,000 copies of "Hits and More," an expanded best-of collection gleaned from her output at RCA between 1992-2010.
