While talking to Billboard.com last week about the American Country Awards, host Trace Adkins was quoted as saying "You're going to get some interesting outcomes, I think." Those turned out to be very prophetic words, as Jason Aldean -- who recently won his first pair of CMA Awards -- steamrolled his way through the night to be the evening's biggest winner with six awards.
Carrie Underwood is considered to be not only one of the biggest success stories in country music, but also the owner of one of Nashville's biggest hearts. She continues that tradition with a performance at the Nordstrom Symphony Fashion Show on Tuesday, Feb. 28 -- all for a good cause.
Fear not, Carrie Underwood diehards: the country superstar will be unveiling new music in less than a month. The "American Idol" winner has announced that "Good Girl," the first taste from her forthcoming fourth album, will be hitting airwaves on Feb. 23.
In a special video message to her fans, Underwood confirms the song title and says that the track will "blow you guys away." The track was co-written by Underwood, Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano; Gorley previously co-penned the singer's tracks "Don't Forget To Remember Me" and "All-American Girl," while DeStefano has worked on recent material by Kelly Clarkson and David Archuleta.

In September, Underwood told Billboard.com that she was six songs deep into the follow-up to 2009's "Play On," which has sold 2.1 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "New songs are coming in all the time," says Underwood. "I'm still writing, and I've recently written some stuff I'm really, really excited about, so just throwing it all in the mix and seeing what comes out on top, because I really just really really want to go for it this time."
Along with focusing on her forthcoming album, Underwood spent 2011 joining artists like Brad Paisley and Tony Bennett on duets, making a guest appearance on the "American Idol" finale and co-hosting the CMA Awards with Paisley. The singer will perform at the 2012 CMA Music Festival, which invades Nashvile from June 7-10.
