They may both be blonde women with cool voices, but the similarities between folk newcomer Sarah Jaffe and dance music queen Robyn don't go much further than that. Even so, Jaffe takes to her acoustic guitar to bravely bring out the lyrical beauty of Robyn's "Hang With Me" for this week's Mashup Monday.

"There were a lot of favorites [from Robyn's "Body Talk" series] that rotated" Jaffe says. "But 'Hang With Me' just kind of stuck. I just love that song. The chorus in particular, the way I heard it, I thought it could make a really sweet and kind of sad folk song. The chords are easy and I like really simple chords that allow the vocal melody to carry the song."

"I do play folk music but I am actually really drawn to electronica.," Texan Jaffe says of choosing the Swedish dance diva's song for her mashup. "In electronica, there are really dark lyrics buried underneath the heavy beats."

Robyn, of course, is a music vet whose been heard in high profile places as far bac as the '90s. Jaffe, on the other hand, is in the early stages of her career. Her debut full-length, "Suburban Nature," was released last year after a well-receieved EP, "Even Born Again," and she is currently bringing her music live to audiences across the country on a tour that runs through August.
