She calls it an "old school record with a new school twist," and talks about working with writer and producer Andrea Martin on the single "It Kills Me," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's R&B charts.

The song about heartache and the torment of love also earned the singer her first Grammy nomination, for best female R&B vocal performance, news that she says gave her "the most emotional moment I've ever had in my life."
