BIG 'HOUSE': Miranda Lambert celebrates her first No. 1 on Country Songs, as "The House That Built Me" rises 2-1. Lambert had previously peaked as high as the runner-up spot with her prior single, "White Liar." (All charts on billboard.com are refreshed each Thursday).

Lambert's lift to the chart's top spot writes a new chapter in a TV series no longer on the air. Having placed third in the inaugural 2003 season of the reality singing competition "Nashville Star," she becomes the program's second former contestant to rule Country Songs. The first? The artist whom Lambert bumps from the summit, Chris Young, who led for three weeks with "The Man I Want to Be." The 2006 "Nashville Star" king had first reigned with "Gettin' You Home" on the Oct. 24, 2009, chart.

With her coronation, Lambert becomes just the fourth lead female artist to top Country Songs since Carrie Underwood notched her first No. 1, "Jesus, Take the Wheel," in January 2006. Since that song's ascension to the apex, 15 chart champions have been inked by lead solo females. Nine belong to Underwood, four to Taylor Swift, and one each to Reba McEntire and, now, Lambert.

While Lambert enjoys her first leader on Country Songs, she has already made headlines on Country Albums. The singer is one of just four acts since Nielsen SoundScan data began fueling Country Albums in 1991 to debut at No. 1 with their first three chart entries. All members of the exclusive club are women: LeAnn Rimes (1996-97), Gretchen Wilson (2004-07), Lambert and Underwood (2005-09 each).


'GURLS' POWER: Katy Perry logs the fastest trip to the top 10 of the Pop Songs chart in more than four-and-a-half years, as "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, soars 12-8 in its third chart week.

No song had zoomed into the top 10 in just three frames since Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends" blasted 17-10 in its third week on the Oct. 1, 2005, survey.

Perry's song, which also jumps 20-14 with Greatest Gainer honors on Adult Pop Songs, registers the quickest trip to the Pop Songs top 10 by a solo female since Madonna's "Die Another Day" reached the top 10 in its third chart week on the list dated Nov. 2, 2002.


IGLESIAS EXPANDS LATIN SONGS LEAD: Enrique Iglesias pads his lead for most No. 1s in the 24-year history of the Latin Songs airplay chart, as "Cuando Me Enamoro" climbs 2-1. The song becomes Iglesias' 21st leader. He first ruled on his first try with "Si Tu Te Vas" in 1995. 21 of his 29 chart visits have resulted in trips to No. 1.

Iglesias concurrently collects his first entry on Pop Songs since 2007, as "I Like It," featuring Pitbull, bows at No. 36. Both tracks preview his new album, "Euphoria," due July 6.

With "Cuando Me Enamoro," featuring Juan Luis Guerra, rising 2-1 and Guerra Y 440's "Bachata En Fukuoka" making an opposite 1-2 dip after a week on top, Guerra becomes the first artist in the chart's history to directly replace himself with a new leader at No. 1.
