This past weekend, plus Friday (July 1 through July 3), the '2011 Essence Music Festival' brought out a star-studded lineup to New Orleans, LA. Artists from Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Jill Scott to El Debarge and New Edition awed the Superdome with performances of their oldies and newbies.


R&B and hip-hop acts did not disappoint, on nor off stage. While 'Ye closed his set with "Hey Mama," in honor to his late mother, Dr. Dondria West, Matthew Knowles, Beyoncé's father, allegedly told media outlets that there is an "Destiny's Child reunion album in the works," according to The YBF.
