It was an ambitious move for the soft-voiced R&B singer, but not only did she go ahead belt one of Houston's signature power ballads, "I Have Nothing," she nailed it!

Ashanti's tribute to the fallen diva was earnest and heartfelt. She closed with a snippet of "I Will Always Love You" and final words. "Rest in peace Whitney, we love you," Ashanti said.

Ashanti continued to perform her newest single, "The Woman You Love." The track, off of her upcoming fifth studio album, titled as the single, is currently No. 63 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It climbed three slots from the previous week. Ashanti's album will be relased on her new label, Written Entertainment, which she owns herself.
