Betseymania broke loose in the tents at Lincoln Center! In true Betsey Johnson style, the funky designer paid homage to the 1960's and The Beatles with her whacky touch when she revealed her fall collection Monday (Feb. 13) at New York Fashion Week.

Not one for subtlety, Johnson's inspiration was clear from the very beginning as the Rolling Stones reverberated throughout the venue and black and white footage of teenaged girls screaming for some mysterious off-camera icon played. Fab four or Betsey? As the show started, each ensemble appeared to have walked straight from Abbey Road to Lincoln Center, carrying titles such as "Lennon Lux" and "Eleanor Rigby."

As tunes played from the Beatles, Dusty Springfield and The Supremes, her nearly four-dozen look collection took form in skinny herringbone suits, psychedelic printed skirts, pink tights, and sparkly hot pants, of course. Some straightforward black mod looks made the collection seem a bit more demure then past lines… well, as demure as Betsey can be. But just when you started to question what runway show you where watching, a whacky fluffy faux fur trim item frolicked down the runway.

Russell Simmons, Theophilus London, Kristin Cavallari and actress Shenae Grimes were among the celebrities spotted at the show.

The 69-year-old took a bow at the end of the show in a silver sparkly long-sleeve shirt and put us all to shame with her flexibility as she turned her signature cartwheel with an added split. As she lie spread eagle on the runway, models marched down out dressed as cheerleaders wearing silver miniskirts and carrying pom-poms. Funky, fun and fabulous!
