Lyle Lovett

Though it has been over 20 years since he had enjoyed a hit at country radio, Lyle Lovett remains a consistent seller as well as one of the format's more recognizable faces. The singer has a pair of projects that he is very excited about currently.

Lovett's new Christmas EP, "Songs For The Season," was just released and is available at iTunes, Amazon and other online outlets. Also produced by Nathaniel Kunkel and Lovett, the EP features the Vince Guaraldi classic, "Christmastime Is Here," Frank Loesser's timeless "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and Lovett's own "The Girl With The Holiday Smile." "Christmastime Is Here" and "Baby, It's Cold Outside" feature Austin, TX-based singer Kat Edmonson on vocals.

The singer will also release a new studio album titled "Release Me" on Feb. 28 in the new year. Also produced by Kunkel and Lovett, it will mark his final release for Curb / Universal -- where he has been with since the beginning of his career in 1986.

It was his self-titled debut record twenty-five years ago that brought him his biggest success at radio -- his lone top ten single, "Cowboy Man." In spite of that fact, each of Lovett's albums since 1996 have hit the top ten on the Top Country Albums chart, with 2007's "It's Not Big, It's Large" peaking at No. 2.
