Christina Perri will headline BMI's 13th annual Snowball at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 28. Appearing on the bill at the Sundance House with her is HONEYHONEY.
The Snowball will be held the day after BMI's 17th annual director and composer roundtable, "Music & Film: The Creative Process." The discussion will be moderated by Doreen Ringer-Ross, BMI's vp of Film/TV Relations. Miriam Cutler, Peter Golub, Mark Orton and Dustin O'Halloran are among the composers who will speak.
BMI's roundtable will take place Jan. 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Filmmaker Lodge in Park City.
"We are committed to shining a light on our composers at the Sundance Film Festival because they provide an essential and deeply emotional element of filmmaking that is so subliminal that it often goes unnoticed and uncelebrated," Ringer-Ross said.
Panelists at the roundtable include composer H. Scott Salinas and director Matthew Heineman for Cartel Land; composer Ilan Eshkeri and Jared Hessfor Don Verdean; composer Bryan Senti and director Michael Almereyda for Experimenter; Cutler and director Kirby Dick of The Hunting Ground; Golub and director Chloé Zhao for Songs My Brother Taught Me; Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum and director Nikole Beckwith for Stockholm, Pennsylvania; Orton and director Jim Strouse of People, Places, Things; composer Keegan Dewitt and Kris Swanberg for Unexpected; O'Halloran and director Prashant Nair of Umrika; T.
