Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the top nominees for the 30th annual MTV Video Music Awards with six apiece, followed by Bruno Mars with four.

MTV unveiled nominations Wednesday morning via the network’s Instagram and Vine accounts, a first for the network and the social media platforms.

Timberlake’s “Mirrors” is up for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Best Editing; “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay Z is vying for Best Collaboration and Best Direction. Timberlake has already won seven "moonmen" trophies.

Rookies Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have three videos in contention: “Thrift Shop” is up for Video of the Year; “Can’t Hold Us” featuring Ray Dalton is in the running for Best Hip Hop Video, Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing; and “Same Love” received a nod for Best Video with a Social Message.

Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” is contending for Video of the Year, Best Pop Video and Best Male Video, while his “Treasure” is in the running for Best Choreography. In the Video of the Year category, those three artists are up against Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” feat T.I. and Pharrell, and Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Thicke, Swift, P!nk, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Drake, Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Ray, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, 30 Seconds to Mars and fun. also received multiple nominations.

The show will take place in Brooklyn, N.Y.'s Barclay's Center on Aug. 25. It is the first awards show to be held in the arena and the first time MTV has taken its awards show to the borough. To commemorate the occasion, KAWS has redesigned the MTV Moonman for this year.
