Carlos Vives Joins David Correy, Execs from Coca-Cola, RCA, Sony, and EA Games at Billboard Latin Music Conference

Dream team of industry players unites for “Gooooll!!! The Making and Marketing of the Music for the World Cup.

Colombian superstar Carlos Vives will join executives from RCA, Sony Brazil, EA Games, Coca-Cola, and Coca-Cola World Cup campaign recording artist David Correy at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Conference for a behind the scenes play-by-play on this year’s global World Cup anthems.

“Gooooll!!! The Making and Marketing of the Music for the World Cup” takes place on April 22 during the 25th edition of the Latin Music Conference, presented by State Farm, at the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami.

Previously announced panelists Coca-Cola Director of Global Entertainment Marketing Joe Belliotti, RCA Records President and COO Tom Corson, Sony Music Entertainment Brazil President Alex Schiavo, and EA Music Group President Steve Schnur will appear on stage with Vives and Correy to make up a dream team of industry players.  Billboard correspondent and Billboard en Español Managing Editor Judy Cantor-Navas will moderate the World Cup and Music panel.
 
Vives, a 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards finalist in two categories, collaborated with Correy on "La Copa De Todos," a Spanish version of FIFA partner Coca-Cola’s 2014 World Cup campaign anthem “The World is Ours,” which so far has been recorded in 19 international versions.
 
Belliotti heads the music strategy of the Coca-Cola 2014 FIFA World Cup marketing campaign, the largest international marketing campaign in the company’s history. Correy, the global voice of “The World is Ours,” was best known as a 2012 X-Factor contestant before being drafted by Coca-Cola for the tournament campaign anthem.
 
During the panel, RCA Records head Corson will give attendees an insider’s perspective on the making and marketing of the official 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil song, “We Are One,” performed by Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte, The official World Cup album will be released by Sony Music Entertainment worldwide prior to the tournament’s June 12 kickoff in Sao Paulo. Corson has played a leading role in the successes of P!nk, Justin Timberlake, Kings of Leon, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Foo Fighters, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Pitbull, Shakira, among others for Sony label RCA.
 
Sony Brazil President Schiavo conceived Sony’s Super Song contest, a global songwriting competition to create a theme for the World Cup to be recorded by Ricky Martin. The winning song, “Vida” by Elijah King, will be included on the official 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil album.
 
EA Games Music Head Schnur is behind the soundtrack of the EA Sports 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the World Cup edition of the acclaimed EA Soccer franchise, which is set for release April 15. The English-language  version of "The World is Ours," performed by Correy, is featured on the soundtrack and in a promotional video for the World Cup game.
