Bandsintown, the concert discovery app which claimed last year to power one million ticket sales per month, has announced a partnership with The Agency Group, the outsized talent booking agency based in Manhattan which represents close to 2,000 clients (about the same number of artists Bandsintown signs up each week, according to a statement. The deal will see the two companies work more closely in order to drive fan awareness of Agency Group clients' touring schedules, driving ticket sales and merchandising.

Bandsintown claims to "power the tour dates for half of all touring artists today," as well as the leading driver of traffic to artists' Facebook pages. Last year, the company commissioned a report on its users, yielding a five-tier classification system which the company uses to segment its user base. The company also asserted its Facebook referral dominance at that time.

"By partnering with our friends at Bandsintown," said Eddie Clemens, director of Tour Marketing for TAG in a statement, "we are now able to better geo-target and promote our artists’ shows. By incorporating Bandsintown into our marketing mix, we will increase tour awareness for all of our performers, ultimately driving ticket sales to our artists’ shows.”
