Great GoogaMooga Festival Cancelled Sunday

Brooklyn's Great GoogaMooga festival cancelled its final day Sunday as the weather in New York City took a turn for the worse. "NYC Parks Dept, Prospect Park Alliance & #Googamooga have canceled today's event in the interest of safety & prevention of damage to park," the festival tweeted shortly after noon today.

This is the festival's second year in Prospect Park, with its inaugural year beset by logistical issues that resulted in festival organizers Superfly Presents refunding all VIP "Extra Mooga" tickets, priced at $250. Due to Sunday's cancellation, GoogaMooga will refund all VIP tickets sold for the day.

Superfly had promised to improve upon last year's issues with lines and food, and those problems largely disappeared during a somewhat wet and drizzly Saturday, when Matt and Kim, Father John Misty and Sharon Van Etten performed, among others. But Sunday's lineup of Kool and the Gang -- a recent addition after Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings had to withdraw in the days leading up to the festival -- De La Soul, the Soul Rebels Brass Band, and more will not be performing.
