MSG Entertainment has acquired New York's Beacon Theatre, making it the fourth venue in the MSGE portfolio, which includes Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The Beacon Theatre, a 2,800-seat venue located at Broadway and 74th street in Manhattan, was built in 1928 and designated a New York landmark building by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Committee in 1979.

The Beacon has become one of New York's busiest rock halls, hosting approximately 70 concerts annually, as well as family shows and other special events. Among its most popular bookings is the annual Allman Brothers Band spring run of dates.

Under MSGE's management, the Beacon is scheduled to host more than 100 events, concerts and family shows in 2007. In January 2008, the Beacon will be closed for a seven to nine-month restoration, in which MSGE has committed to spend a minimum of $10 million for initial renovations of the building. The restoration will extend from the front of house to the back of the loading docks.
