The Gridiron Stadium Network (GSN) has added three new venues to its organization: the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, and the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
The GSN comprises 11 NFL stadiums and two Major League Soccer stadiums. The nonprofit organization, which launched in 2005, is designed to raise awareness of its members' facilities with hopes of attracting more events.
So far this year, concerts by the Police, Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney, the Crossroads Guitar Festival and the Vans Warped tour have visited GSN-affiliated stadiums.
The organization also notes that a June 9 concert by Chesney sold more than 54,000 tickets and grossed more than $4.4 million at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field. The country singer performed at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field (June 23) and Seattle’s Qwest Field (July 7), grossing more than $3.9 million and $3.2 million, respectively, according to Billboard Boxscore.
