As first tipped in Billboard this week, Live Nation has reached a long term agreement to exclusively book Asbury Park's three best known music venues:
the 1,600 capacity Paramount Theater, the 3,600 capacity Convention Hall and
the legendary 850 capacity Stone Pony.

Investors Madison Marquette and Asbury Partners, who are spearheading the $2 billion Asbury Park City Boardwalk redevelopment, selected Live Nation as their exclusive partner to book and promote all live music events at the three venues through 2011.

Live Nation's John D'Esposito will oversee all New Jersey bookings for Live Nation. "In picking up these three venues we now have stepping stones for bands in Jersey working all the way up to our PNC amphitheater and the Izod Arena," Live Nation New York president Kevin Morrow tells Billboard.biz. "So now we have a New Jersey strategy that will mirror our New York strategy, building from nightclubs to stadiums."

The Stone Pony has undergone extensive renovations and now boasts state of the art lighting and sound equipment. The historic Paramount Theatre went through a dramatic restoration which was completed last summer. Convention Hall, overlooking the beach, will soon see a series of renovations which will include new sound and lighting systems and interior beautification.

The inaugural performance of this promising partnership will be the April 24th performance of American rock icon Lou Reed at The Paramount Theatre. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 15th at 11am. More details are available at livenation.com.

Upcoming shows include Hurt (March 14), Pete Francis (16), Eddie Money (April 4), Misfits (17), Nicole Atkins (may 17), and the Avett Brothers (July 2).
