Los Angeles-based equity firm Transom Capital Group has acquired independent merchandise company Cinder Block. Cinder Block founder and president Jeffery Bischoff will continue to lead the company and retain some ownership of the business.

Cinder Block has provided merch services for such artists as Kid Rock, Death Cab for Cutie, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Counting Crows and Dane Cook, among others. The company has also provided merch for the Vans Warped Tour, and has worked to create retail opportunities for licensees in movies, television and sports.

"After careful consideration of many different partnerships, we are excited to find a partner with the level of creativity and operational excellence that Transom Capital brings to the table," Bischoff said in a statement. "Combined with their strong relationships in music and media we will be able to develop new ways to drive more profitability for the artist. Innovative programs and new revenue streams will guarantee our artists maximize earnings and exposure for their brand."

As part of the acquisition, Will Merrick will join the company as executive VP of business development. He previously served as director of digital programming and strategy at MTV.
