Video: Flaming Lips' Lighting Rig Collapses During Storm in Oklahoma, Show Canceled

Heavy wind and rain knocked over the Flaming Lips' lighting rig Saturday (Aug. 6) at the Brady District Block Party in Tulsa, Okla. No one was injured, but the collapse affected about $800,000 of equipment, Pitchfork reports.

Frontman Wayne Coyne posted multiple pictures after the rig fell, tweeting: "Wind and rain destroyed the stage !!!!!" and "Show is cancelled!!!! Devastation!!!" The photos show broken guitars, crushed drum equipment and more.

The stage had been evacuated before the crash, but Coyne reportedly ran onstage immediately after the rig fell in order to secure equipment and survey the damage. He told NewsOK, "The whole thing is shambolic and a bit dangerous and we're working to get as much off of the stage before we get hit with the second wave."
