Bachata superstar Romeo Santos is going on a national arena tour in early 2012, according to a spokesperson.
The Latin singer/songwriter, who is also the lead vocalist of Aventura, had a successful year as a solo artist in addition to being signed to an upcoming multi-camera ABC comedy series about a son of Dominican parents living in New York's Washington Heights. Overbrook Entertainment, the company founded by Will Smith and James Lassiter, is producing the show.
Earlier this week Santos' Madison Square Garden in New York date sold out and a second show was added. That was in addition to other national tour dates, which will take the entertainer to Boston, Las Vegas, Miami and San Diego, among other cities.
Santos' bilingual/bicultural "Formula, Vol. 1" (Sony U.S. Latin) was released on Nov. 8. The album's first single, "You," spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart during the summer.
A fan pre-sale for tickets will take place Dec. 15 for all shows outside of New York. The remaining tickets go on sale Dec. 16.
