Canada's full-service booking agency S.L. Feldman and Associates (SLFA) has opened a boutique-booking agency in Santa Monica, California, called Parallel 49 (P49), a reference to U.S.-Canadian border, 49th parallel.
This new agency will represent recording artists and variety entertainment for the concert industry for bookings at performing arts centers, festivals, fairs, casinos and special events. P49's diverse roster includes music, comedy, television to live stage, Broadway, performing arts and celebrity speakers.
The initial signings include Under the Streetlamp, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Tracy Morgan, Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, The Canadian Tenors, FremantleMedia's touring attractions: The Price is Right, Just For Laughs 30th Anniversary Tour, America's Got Talent Allstars, Here to Stay - The Gershwin Experience, Port Chuck, Paula Cole and Captains of the Deadliest Catch.
Agencts Matt Charkow and Beth Jones-Mudaliyar, formerly with William Morris Endeavor, have both moved over to P49. They will work with SLFA's veteran agents, Richard Mills in Toronto and Justin Sudds in Vancouver. SLFA senior vice-president Shaw Saltzberg will act as managing director. The team will book North America and global markets.
"P49 has brought together a staff of like-minded agents dedicated to the highest level of service for artists, producers and talent buyers," said Saltzberg in a press statement. "The staff is comprised of veteran career agents, adept at artist development and building promoter relationships. We've chosen to work with a small roster where every artist and special attraction is a priority."
SLFA, which has offices in Vancouver and Toronto, is a division of A&F Music, a music management and booking agency with clients such as James Taylor, Diana Krall, Elvis Costello, Michael Bublé and Bryan Adams.
