Canadians Nelly Furtado, Justin Bieber and rising pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen - who all performed on last weekend's Billboard Music Awards - have been added to the MuchMusic Video Awards lineup, along with pop band Marianas Trench.
The 2012 MMVAs air live June 17 at 9 p.m. ET, on MuchMusic in Canada and Fuse in the U.S., with the "MMVA Red Carpet Special" at 8 p.m. ET in both countries.
Marianas Trench actually leads the nominations with seven. The band's lead singer, Josh Ramsay co-wrote and produced Carly Rae Jepsen's hit single, "Call Me Maybe" and she is signed to Schoolboy Records, Beiber's manager Scooter Braun's label. In Canada, Marianas Trench and Jepsen are both on 604 Records, co-owned by lawyer Jonathan Simkin and Nickelback's Chad Kroeger. Simkin also manages both acts, Jepsen and Marianas Trench.
Furtado, who just performed her new single, "Big Hoops (The Bigger The Better)" on the Billboard Music Awards, will now release her new album, The Spirit Indestructible, tentatively in September, pushed back from June 19.
The four Canucks join previously announced performers LMFAO and Katy Perry. The members of LMFAO are also co-hosting the awards with various VJs.
Sponsors of the 2012 MMVAs include: Coca-Cola Canada Ltd., Get a Load of Milk™, Procter & Gamble, BlackBerry®, SUBWAY® Restaurants, Virgin Mobile Canada™, JUST DANCE®, and H&M, designer of the official MMVAs wristband.
