Nick Spampanato, GM of the historic Beacon Theatre in New York since 2009, is moving back across the country to oversee the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., for the arena's new owner, MSG Entertainment.
Spampanato served as the GM of two fabled Los Angeles facilities, the Hollywood Palladium and the Wiltern, in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Before that, he managed backstage operations for the Gibson Amphitheatre (formerly known as the Universal Amphitheatre) from 1992-2006.
As vp and GM of the Forum, Spampanato will oversee building and event production, food and merchandise and parking and ticketing operations and manage all third-party service providers for the Forum operations.
MSG acquired the Forum in June for $23.5 million and plans to put in millions more to renovate the building, which opened in 1967. The new owners want to make the arena -- which hosted such legendary acts as Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix -- a top-flight concert destination once again.
"With more than 20 years of experience in Los Angeles and New York, we are confident that Nick will play a key role in representing MSG Entertainment and the Forum on the West Coast and within the Inglewood community," MSG Entertainment president Melissa Ormond said in a statement.
"For someone who has worked in live entertainment for most of my career, returning to California and overseeing the legendary Forum is an unparalleled opportunity," said Spampanato.
