Sony BMG Music Entertainment Sales is merging its digital and physical distribution business into one operation, reporting to Thomas Hesse, who has been named president of the newly created Global Digital Business & U.S. Sales.

As part of that move, Jordan Katz, co-president of Sony BMG Sales Enterprise, has been appointed president of U.S. sales, overseeing physical sales and working with the U.S. digital sales team. He reports to Hesse.

Also reporting to Hesse will be Dennis Kooker, executive VP of operations and finance. George Clyne, GM of Sony BMG Sales Enterprise, will retire in June and Kooker will assume his responsibilities.

Bill Frohlich, also co-president of Sony BMG Sales Enterprise, is leaving the company.
