Britain's Entertainment Retailers Association today unanimously elected independent record store-owner Paul Quirk as its chairman.

Also at its annual general meeting, the trade body's ruling council voted-in Ben Drury, managing director of London-based digital music retailer 7digital, as deputy chairman. Drury becomes the first digital retailer to serve as an officer of ERA.

Quirk, who runs Quirks Records in Ormskirk, Lancashire, has served as an ERA council member for 10 years, and until recently served as deputy chairman and then co-chairman.
