Veteran music sales executive Jordan Katz has exited Sony BMG Sales Enterprise, the distribution arm of Sony BMG. Katz had been president there since September 2004.

Well regarded by accounts and by rival sales executives, Katz was previously senior VP of sales at Arista until that label was downsized in March 2004. He then moved over to BMG Distribution to succeed the retiring Pete Jones as president until the merger of BMG and Sony Music was consummated.

Initially, Katz was co-president of Sony BMG Sales Enterprise with Bill Frohlich, who had been executive VP of sales for Sony Music Distribution. Katz remained as the division's lone president when Frohlich was pared from Sony BMG in January 2007.
