Michael Kurtz, the head of indie record store coalition Music Monitor Network, is to relocate his office from New York to Los Angeles at the end of February.

Kurtz cited two reasons for the relocation, stating, "As a group, MMN blew past the $10 million mark in annual DVD sales last year and we want to try and work closer with the movie studios. In addition, we've added our first new retailing member (Slackers, the independently owned 11 store chain) whose core business is games, followed by music and films."
