Leading U.K. entertainment retailer Zavvi has disclosed plans for its first sale since rebranding from Virgin Megastores in Sept. 2007 following a management buy-out.

The warehouse clearance sale launches June 26 with more than 600,000 CDs and 200,000 video games discounted. Zavvi's 125 stores in the U.K. and Ireland will be the main focus for the sale, although further discounts will be available online.

"We have created the best ever sale that entertainment retail has ever seen, we are offering what amounts to possibly the largest range of discounted music and games with our warehouse clearance stock," says Zavvi CEO Simon Douglas in a statement.

The sale will be backed with a press advertising campaign as well as posters on London Underground and Glasgow Subway, plus online advertising and a targeted e-mail campaign.
