Independent London record store Sister Ray will continue trading after its co-founder bought the shop out of administration.

The store in Soho went into administration in July and stayed open. Co-founder Phil Barton has formed a new company to buy the retailer.

The alternative music store launched in 1987 and specializes in vinyl. It has featured in-store performances by pop act Lily Allen and the site that Sister Ray currently occupies in Brewer Street features on the cover of Oasis’ multi-platinum 1995 album “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” (Big Brother).
