Allegro Media Group has acquired the Canadian distribution arm of VDI Entertainment, and will merge that operation into its out business in that country.

Describing it as a small but good deal, Allegro chairman and CEO Joe Micallef said that it would significantly expand Allegro's customer base in Canada.

He said that Bill Ott, GM of VDI Canada, would stay on board in that position. Allegro, a vertically intergrated company, that includes indie distribution, rackjobbing and the Softland operation, does slightly above $100 million annually, according to Micallef.
