“Fed up of Simon Cowell's latest karaoke act being Christmas No.1?” That’s the rallying cry from a Facebook group set up to block another “The X Factor” winner from scoring the U.K.’s No. 1 Christmas song.

Jon and Tracy Morter of London launched the “Rage Against The Machine For Christmas No. 1” campaign to spur sales of the influential rock band’s “Killing In The Name,” beginning December 13, in hopes of propelling the track to the top spot. The Facebook group now has 585,000 members.

At a press conference on Thursday, Cowell called the campaign "cynical” and "stupid," according to multiple reports online.

The annual race for the top U.K. Christmas single garners much media attention and has been dominated by “X Factor” winners in recent years, like Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis.

Rage Against The Machine could not be reached for comment.
