Apple says its new London store in Covent Garden will be its largest store in the world.

The store, the 300th Apple store to open around the world, is based at No. 1 the Piazza, Covent Garden in central London and will open at 10am on Aug. 7. Apple has a nearby store in Regent Street, covering 28,000 square feet, which is often crowded. The company did not specify the size of the Covent Garden store.

The store's central courtyard will host free workshops and presentations, and there is a 'Start Up Room' to help customers with their new products before they leave the store.

"We are thrilled to open a new store in this amazing location in Covent Garden," said Ron Johnson, Apple's SVP of retail. "Our store on Regent Street is one of the most popular and successful Apple stores in the world, and we think the people of London will love the new Apple Store Covent Garden just as much."

The Apple Store Covent Garden is staffed by 300 employees and will features dozens of products on display for customers to try out, including 56 Macs, 30 iPads, 40 iPods and 30 iPhones.
