!K7 Label Services, a division of the Berlin-borne, London-based label and one-stop music biz shop, has announced another round of label partnerships, this time with the fast-on-the-rise L.A. label Friends of Friends (Shlohmo, Groundislava) and long-established U.K. indie Acid Jazz (Jamiroquai, Terry Callier).
For Friends of Friends, !K7 will be providing European marketing and development for the label's many up-and-comers, beginning with Kyson's "The Water's Way" in September and Perera Elsewhere's "Everlast" in October. "Already being fans of a number of their releases and other partner labels, it really is beyond exciting for us to be expanding our reach with their help and expertise," said Friends of Friends head Leeor Brown in a statement.
Acid Jazz, meanwhile, is looking to !K7 for a global push behind what founder Eddie Pillar referred to as "one of the strongest rosters in our history," including Dexters and a concentrated stateside effort, scheduled for 2014, behind the comedian and musician Matt Berry, best known for his role on "The IT Crowd."
Said !K7 CEO Horst Weidenmuller of the new additions to his Label Servies family: "Everybody at !K7 is excited to work with Leeor and help realize the potential of such a great label in Europe. Working with such a historic and important label as Acid Jazz is a real honor and we are looking forward to developing their fantastic and diverse roster."
