Animal Collective, in conjunction with Domino Records and the Creators project, last night (July 29) launched Animal Collective Radio ( radio.myanimalhome.net), a weekly online radio program.
Animal Collective's Panda Bear hosted the first show with his own mix and guest DJ sets by Black Dice, Sublime Frequencies and Haunted Graffiti. The set, as one might expect, sounds incredibly refracted and tripped-out with samples spanning both the globe and audio spectrum.
A new Animal Collective broadcast will air every Sunday night at 9 pm EST though Aug. 19 with a different member of the band - Panda Bear, Deakin, Avey Tare and Geologist - taking turns hosting. The shows feature band mixes and guest DJs.
The broadcast will loop for 24 hours following the broadcast and will be available as an on-demand stream via MixCloud.
The Creators Project is a technology and art partnership between Intel and Vice, which have worked with Animal Collective since 2010. The Creators Projectors website will host track list details and more information.
Animal Collective is also encouraging fans to create their own radio show mixes and supplying samples from their new album Centipede Hz (out Sept. 4 on Domino) IDs and instructions.
The band also today premiered "Today's Supernatural" (video above), the first single from Centipede Hz.
