Joe Gillen has been named CFO at BMG North America.
Gillen, who is based in New York, brings with him a stack of major label experience. He joins from Universal Music Group's Capitol Music Division (formerly EMI Music North America) where he was appointed senior VP finance back in 2007.
At BMG, Gillen is responsible for finance and accounting together with income tracking and royalty audit.
"I am very excited to have Joe taking on this key role for which he is ideally suited,” BMG Group CFO Maximilian Dressendoerfer comments in a statement. “As BMG further expands its master business and in particular our innovative Artist Services model, Joe's record industry background will be invaluable."
Adds Laurent Hubert, president of marketing and creative, North America: "I welcome the opportunity to work with an executive of Joe's caliber as he joins our talented management team. His financial acumen and experience will be an incredible asset to BMG."
Earlier in his career, Gillen served in various senior finance roles at Sony Music Entertainment U.S. He joined EMI in 2004, and went on to serve as VP finance of Capitol & Virgin Records.
