Letters of intent to bid on Famous Music Publishing were due yesterday to financial services firm UBS, which is managing the sale for Famous parent company Viacom.

Viacom first publicly hinted at its intent to sell the publishing unit in February. As reported at that time, sources told Billboard.biz that Viacom execs began to seriously consider selling the unit while they were working on Viacom's bid for BMG Music Publishing, which they lost to Universal Music Group last September. Reviewing the BMG assets gave the execs the opportunity to take a closer look at their own publishing unit.

Check back for updates as Billboard.biz compiles the list of potential bidders.
