Brussels-based Strictly Confidential Music Publishing is expanding into the United Kingdom.

The independent music publisher has appointed Jo Hillier to oversee Strictly Confidential U.K. as GM, with effect from today.

Hillier will be based at the PIAS/Wall of Sound premises in Ladbroke Grove, west London.

Strictly Confidential managing director Piet Bekaert is bullish on the company's prospects. "We are looking to become the leading pan-European music publisher, a real alternative to major publishers; and moving into the U.K. with a London office is the next logical step for us," Bekaert comments in a statement.

Hillier brings with him a solid track record in management and A&R. He joined Wall of Sound in 1998, where he launched the We Love You imprint as GM/A&R. The Bees and I AM Kloot were among the imprint's signings. Hillier also brought Royksopp to Wall of Sound.

In 2002, he moved to Virgin Records to serve as head of A&R at Source Records

Last year, he left Virgin to become a full-time manager representing the Bees, and newcomers Fryars and Shakes, a role in which he will continue.
