EMI Music Publishing has promoted Dan McCarroll to senior VP and head of the east coast creative department. He was previously VP of the west coast office.

McCarroll, who has already relocated from Los Angeles to New York City, will be responsible for all new signings out of the office. He will report directly to chairman/CEO Roger Faxon.

McCarroll has worked in a creative role for the publisher since 2001. Previously he ran the A&R department for Electra Imprint, a label formed by Metallica's Lars Ulrich. McCarroll also performed as a drummer for such artists as Sheryl Crow, Jon Brion, Aimee Mann, Michael Penn and others during a 15-year span.

"Dan was the unanimous choice of our senior creative team to take on the challenge of running the east coast creative operation," says Faxon.
