Warner/Chappell Music has promoted Monica Lee to regional general manager for its Asia Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, Lee takes over from Steven Fock, who has left the company for a business opportunity outside of music publishing.

Lee was previously creative director for Warner/Chappell Music Taiwan. She will now be responsible for the administration and licensing of the publisher's catalog of local and international artists in Asia Pacific, except Australia and Japan. She reports to U.S.-based Warner/Chappell CEO Dave Johnson.

Lee's responsibilities will include seeking out new business opportunities in China and building on the company's success in more mature Asian markets such as Taiwan.

In a statement, Johnson said: "Monica has been a key member of our team, combining exceptional management skills with a unique understanding of the music publishing in this dynamic part of the world. Monica's talent, experience and innovative thinking will enhance our efforts as we drive our business forward during these exciting times."

Johnson also praised Fock for his "dedication and vision," adding: "while we're sad to see him leave, we respect his decision and wish him only the best in his new business venture."

Lee joined the company in 2002, following the acquisition of Taiwan-based Musset Publications, where she was general manager. Warner/Chappell's current roster includes Dido, Eric Clapton, Green Day, Madonna and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
