Universal Music Publishing Group has appointed a new-look senior executive team to spearhead its European operations after the firm's integration with BMG Music Publishing.

In the new set-up, unveiled today, each appointee reports to Paul Connolly, UMPG president of Europe/U.K.

Simon Baker will oversee the amalgamation of the two companies and all aspects of finance for Europe in the role as VP, finance and operations Universal Music Publishing Europe. Baker has served as UMPG European finance director since 2001.

Jean-Philippe Allard has been named managing director of UMP France. Since January 2007, Allard has run UMP France and Polydor. He is also president of classical music awards "Les Victoires de la Musique Classique."

Claudio Buja becomes managing director of UMP Italy. Buja was elevated in late 2001 from A&R director for MCA Records Italy to MD of UMP Italy. In addition, he is a music committee member for the Italian collection society Siare, and VP of local music publishers association FEM.

Martin Ingestrom becomes managing director/VP Nordic countries. In 1998, Ingestrom rose to MD/VP Nordic countries following the merger of MCA and Polygram.

BMG Music Publishing stalwart Carmen Lopez becomes MD Spain and Portugal/VP creative Latin region. Lopez has helmed BMG's music publishing business in Spain since 1987. She also serves as president for Spain's music publishing association, O.P.E.M.

Frank Bruens is promoted to MD for UMP Benelux. Since 2003, he has worked as MD, BMG Music Publishing Benelux.

Rainer Bischof becomes MD, UMP Austria, Switzerland and Koch Music Publishing. Bischof has steered UMP Austria as MD since 2004. He is also a board member of the Swiss author society, SUISA.

Antal Boronkay, MD of Editio Musica Budapest (EMB) Music Publisher, takes the same title for UMP Hungary. Boronkay has overseen the Czech and Slovak BMG businesses for the past five years, and has been a board member at the Polish BMG affiliate.

And Dominika Nováková, GM of BMG Music Czech Republic since 2004, becomes GM, UMP Czech Republic.

As previously reported, Markus Wenzel has been promoted to MD of UMP Germany, having joined music publisher in October 2002 as MD.
