EMI Music Publishing has promoted Big Jon Platt to president, West Coast creative, and Dan McCarroll to executive VP, East Coast creative, Billboard.biz has learned. Chairman/CEO Roger Faxon is expected to make the announcement on Wednesday.

Platt, formerly executive VP, remains national head of urban music, but will now oversee creative on the West Coast for all genres of music. McCarroll, who was senior VP, will head creative on the East Coast for all genres except urban.

Jody Gerson, executive VP of U.S. creative, will be leaving the company. "I am so proud of the writers I've worked with over the past 18-1/2 years here," Gerson tells Billboard.biz. "I'm thrilled for both Dan and Jon whom I knew had greatness in them when I originally hired them. Now it's on to my next challenge."

Platt and McCarroll will report to Faxon.

Additional announcements on restructuring the creative department are expected Wednesday.
